“I booked a sailing charter for the day so that my girlfriend and our traveling buddies could see Marathi Bay, and the entire experience was brilliant. It’s definitely one of those moments I’ll remember for a long time.

The sail was about 8 hours, but I wish it went on for 8 more. Our skipper, Michalis, was a very knowledgeable tour guide about the area, but he’s also a shining example of the so-called Cretan hospitality you keep hearing about. Passed by some great little beaches and coves on our way to Chania.

Lunch consisted of salad and the tastiest smoked pork soulvaki sandwich I had during my week in Crete. Just wished that I managed to keep my prize during the troll-fishing we did on the way back.”

“We sailed with Captain Michalis for a relaxing 4-hour journey along the coast, complete with a stop for swimming, with beers, water and snacks provided. The boat was lovely, and he was a funny and charming host. His son Manolis arranged the trip details for us the day prior, and was incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend this family-owned venture.”

Wow, what a great way to spend 4 hours of your day. we left at 16:00 and sailed out to see following the Crete coastline. The boat was superb and plenty big enough as we were a family of 8. We sailed for two hours and then dropped anchor time to cool off in the sea and snorkel, or just lay on the boat topping top up the tan. The captain who was a character for sure provided refreshments and good conversation about his travels and anything you wanted to know about the island and the boat. We sailed back with the sun setting behind the hills as we cruised into the harbour. The added bonus, great value for money.

The boat is a lovely sailing vessel and certainly has you dreaming about being able to sail yourself, being a none sailor.
